The mini-podcast on the great little things in life

Two minutes an episode, on the small things that turn out to be great.

Things2LiveFor is a mini-podcast about small things that are great. An episode runs about two minutes — long enough to take one ordinary good thing seriously, short enough to fit into whatever else the day is already doing. The episodes sit in the collections below, and the listening pages set out the ways 2 listen.

The idea was carried around for years before it became a show. It started with a radio DJ who kept ending up in conversations with listeners who were struggling, and who wanted to make a segment for exactly those people. The plan went on the back burner through a change of career and came back later, with encouragement from home, as a podcast instead.

“There’s so much negativity in the world — on TV, in the news. We’re just trying to tip the scales a little bit.”

That is still the whole plan. The world we live in is filled with negativity, and it can get to people long before they realise it; the show answers by pointing at the smallest or simplest things and arguing that joy is genuinely available there. Happiness is infectious. If enough people pass it on, that adds up.
